Embodiment of the Actor with Suze Smith

“To be present in the unfolding of a mystery.”

What is that magic something that happens between actor and audience when the moment is ripe and rich on stage? How does the actor connect to self and other whilst being witnessed in the moment of storytelling? How to bring spontaneity and aliveness to the necessary rehearsed lines and movements?

This workshop is an invitation to discover the infinite life under your skin; and to unravel ways of translating this experience in live performance in order to connect with your audience.

Alumni of the Victorian College of the Arts (PGD - Performance Creation & Directing, GradDip - Art and Community Engagement), Suze creates adventurous experiences, with and for community. She is a citizen of the world who loves to listen to, tell, and share stories. A community engagement specialist, Suze creates participatory arts experiences in theatre making, storytelling, and embodiment practices. She is a theatre maker, writer, and director of live performance in collaboration with a range of community participants and independent artists. Suze provides a sophisticated interpersonal space which brings forth the spirit of collaboration; creating platforms for people to connect to self, other, and place, in ways that are life giving and joyful. www.suzesmith.com.au
